Background to the New Driver Presentations:
The New Driver Safe Motoring presentations are tailored to meet each schools requirements and during the presentations, the following issues are discussed:
* Learning to Drive;
* Buying, insuring and maintaining a car;
* Penalty points and the consequences of receiving them;
* Road Safety including explaining and signing of the Share the Road to Zero pledge;
* Discussing the impact of distractions to young people driving and the impact of passenger distraction

* Explaining the financial and social benefits by adapting a positive attitude towards driving.
The presentations finishes with me asking the students a number of questions to open their minds to the consequences of not following the Share the Road to Zero pledge.
New Driver NI has been working with post 16 schools and colleges across Northern Ireland since 2014 by delivering its magazine to over 95% of the schools as wells as presenting its Safe Motoring presentation to over 70% of post 16 schools and colleges.
New Driver NI started in 2014 by producing a magazine for young people between the ages of 16-24. After a short period, I was asked to complete a presentation based on the information in the magazine, which was designed and offered to all schools. To date, I have delivered over 250 presentations to over 25,000 students and won an award at the UK Young Driver Focus Awards.
