New drivers targeted in new online safety resource

Newdriverni.com is a new website which puts the needs of new drivers first in Northern Ireland

An innovative website was officially launched today to help young drivers across Northern Ireland become safer, more confident and knowledgeable drivers.

The new online resource, www.newdriverni.com, is packed full of information and guidance for those who are thinking about learning to drive, those about to take the plunge or those who have recently passed their test. The website features topics such as passing your test, buying a car, insurance, looking after your car and road safety.

The launch of the unique, interactive website follows the successful launch of an official ‘New Driver NI’ magazine last year, which has already been distributed to thousands of new drivers in schools and colleges across Northern Ireland and follows a lively ‘magazine’ format with topical information, features, news and tips on areas such as passing your test, buying a car, insurance, car maintenance and road safety. It also contains information which can help to improve the road skills of drivers of any age.

New Driver NI director, Tony McKeown, said:

“Learning to drive is something every young person will get to do only once, so it’s important to be equipped with all the information, advice and tips you need to pass your test first time and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime to come”.
